Project 1A- On-site Sketching
For this project, we were supposed to produce 5 on site sketches and engage ourselves with the surroundings. 4 sketches are required to be anywhere within Taylor's Univeristy Lakeside Campus and 1 more sketch is to be produced outside campus.
Sketch Gallery

From this project-
- I learned to understand more regarding perspectives and compositions while framing the drawings.
- I am able to communicate the different feeling of space using drawing as the medium.
- I became more aware of my surroundings through observations from this exercise.
- I developed better and faster sketching skills while capturing important details.

Project 1B - Tonal Values
Based on an image provided, we are to produce 4 variations of tonal value sketch. Hatching type includes stiplling, cross-hatching, one -directional hatching and stippling. Mixed media like pencil combining with ink are possible.

From this project-
- I learned more regarding detailing and giving tonal values/rendering on projects.
- I developed better rendering skills.
- I learned to apply mixed media renderings in my projects.
- I learned how to communicate depth and spaces using different tonal values.

Project 2A - Orthographic Projections
For Project 2A, we were required to produced Orthographic Projections of Barcelona Pavilion. The drawings are to be inked with technical pen. We were required to produce a plan, front elevation, back elevation, left and right elevations and two sections in the scale of 1:100.

From this project,
- I have learned to produce an Orthographic Projection in the traditional way.
- I have also learned to produce my drawings in scale manually.
- I learned to label my drawings with different architectural conventions, labels and symbols.
- I learned to apply different line weights on the drawing.
- I learned to write in Architectural letterings.

Project 2B - Axonometric Projections
In project 2B, we are to produce an Axonometric Projection of the Barcelona Pavilion. We are to refer to the previous measurements in Project 1A and produce the axonometric manually in ink.

From this project,
- I have understand how to construct an axonometric projection.
- I have learned to refer and transfer the measurements from the Orthographic Projections into constructing the axonometric projections.
- I have learned to show X-ray parts of the building.
- I have learned to show explosions of certain parts of the building.
- I improved in terms of applying line weights in the drawing.
- I improved in producing acceptable architectural letterings.

Project 2C - Perspectives Drawing
For Project 2C, we were to produce a single A3 paper consisting of the one point perspective and a two point perspective of the Barcelona Pavilion using the previous Orthographic Projections as measurements.

From this project,
- I have learned to produce one point persective and two point perspective.
- I learned to transfer measurements from the Orthographic Projections to the one and two point perspective drawings.
- I have learned to draw based on the viewers angle.
- I have learned to use different line weight thickness to indicate the depth in my drawings.
- I have learned to add human scale into the perspective drawings to give a sense of scale.

Project 3 - Finishing & Presentation
Project 3 interrelates with Design Studio 1 and we were to produce 3 A2 presentation board at a maximum to showcase our design from Design Studio 1. For this project, we were required to produce orthographic projections in scale 1:50, sketches and things that we have learnt from Design Communication.

From this project,
- I have gained an immense amount of knowledge regarding designing a space for a client.
- I have learned to challenge myself by designing a building in a tight narrow space for a client.
- I have also learned to apply things that I have learned from previous Design Communciation projects and integrate it in this project.
- I also improved greatly in my model making skills and learned to use other materials like perspex in the making.
- I developed a greater understanding in human anthropometry and scales.
